Duchesne County, located in the northeastern part of the State of Utah is one of Utah’s most extensive counties. Most of the County is within the boundaries of the Great Basin known as the Uintah Basin, home of the Ute Indian, dinosaur quarries, unique mountain scenery as well as thriving cities, and oil country. With a county population of around 21,000 and a city population of nearly 2,000, Duchesne has all the amenities one could need.
This area of Utah has many outdoor activities within a short drive. The mountains, lakes, and rivers in Duchesne County offer numerous recreational opportunities. Among the wide open spaces can be found spectacular mountain ranges and canyons suitable for picnicking, hiking, mountain biking, camping, backpacking, boating, fishing, and ATVing.
These lots sit approximately 1/2 way between Strawberry and Starvation reservoirs. Both reservoirs offer all water sports and recreation opportunities from fishing to boating. Another popular attraction accessible from the Uinta Basin are the towering Uinta Mountains. Here you will find a vast expanse of wilderness area. Utah’s highest peak, Kings Peak, is located here at an elevation of 13,528 feet. The Ashley, Wasatch, and Uintah National Forests are found in this mountain region. Utah’s largest designated Wilderness was established here in 1984.
Throughout the high Uintas are thousands of fresh water lakes fed by melting snow and abounding with trout. Several streams have their beginnings in the Uinta Mountain Range. Red creek, Duchesne River, Rock Creek, Lake Fork, The Yellowstone, Uintah River, and Whiterocks River are in this area. Current Creek and Strawberry River, which have headwaters in Wasatch County, flow eastward and join the Duchesne River. Here you wiil find some of the best fishing in the world!
These parcels are located just far enough out of town to give it the feeling of being slightly remote, but close enough to amenities that you do not have to travel great distances for needed services. You will find this location is central to most anything you decide to do.
